Week six already? Time is flying by. I guess it tends to when FCD is playing as well as they are. Let's look at who to start and who not to.
FCD plays the Seattle Sounders Saturday in a game that is sure to be filled with goals. FC Dallas has scored five more goals (13) than any other team in MLS so far. Seattle is coming off a nice offensive outing after scoring four against Portland.
Who to start/add
Blas Perez $9.0 - Perez didn't play much against Houston. Oscar Pareja is just making sure Perez gets his rest. He will be well-rested for this one. Look for him to take advantage of a Seattle backline that conceded four goals last week.
Mauro Diaz $8.3 - Is there a better player in the league right now? The March Player of the Month will look to continue his success this week. However many goals FCD scores this week, it's more than likely that Diaz will be involved in almost all of them. With two goals and three assists, he leads all players in fantasy manager.
Who not to start/add
Jair Benitez $6.5 - Benitez hasn't played all that great so far this year. His play hasn't gotten him many points in fantasy. With the offensive power Seattle has in Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins, don't expect him to get many points this week.
Chris Seitz $5.2 - Seitz has been brilliant thus far. He's even tied for the most goalkeeper fantasy points with Nick Rimando. But, FCD has yet to pitch a shutout this season. I don't see it happening this week against Seattle's attacking presence.
Who to start/add
Diego Valeri $10.2 - Portland have been struggling so far this season. But, they did explode for four goals at home last week. Maybe that will propel them back to normal. They face a struggling defense in Chivas USA at home this week. Look for Diego Valeri to create a lot of goal-scoring chances for himself and others.
Marco Di Vaio $10.5 - Di Vaio has only played in two games so far, scoring in one of them. Montreal face Chicago at home this week. Montreal are one of the league leaders in shots taken, and Di Vaio takes the majority of them. One of them is bound to go in against at Chicago defense that has conceded nine goals already.
Erick Torres $8.5 - Portland are tied with Chivas USA, conceding the most goals (10) in the league so far. The way Portland's defense is playing at the moment, they are going to have to win because of their offense. Erick Torres scored in each of the first four games of the season. He is a finisher. With Mauro Rosales feeding him balls against Portland's defense, he will get a lot of looks on goal.
Who not to start/add
Carlos Bocanegra $7.0 - As I said earlier, Portland will have to win by relying on their offense to outscore the other team. This is bad news for Chivas USA. Their backline has been just as bad as Portland. I wouldn't start Bocanegra or any member of the Chivas defense this week.
Conor Casey $7.3 - Casey hasn't played a lot of minutes so far this season. He's not in form and will be playing against a stellar Real Salt Lake defense. RSL will most likely be without Rimando at GK, but will still be stout. After trading Jack McInerney, Philadelphia doesn't really have many scoring options. They might even start newly acquired Andrew Wenger instead of Casey.
Gabriel Torres $8.1 - There has been a lot of talk about Toronto's attack, but their defense has only allowed four goals. That is in large part due to the presence of Michael Bradley. Colorado will be on the road against Toronto. Torres is a risk. He could start, he could not. You don;t really know until close to game time. Even if he starts, I don't see Colorado's attack doing well against Toronto. But, there has been talk that Bradley might not play, and that could make a huge difference.
