Bobby Warshaw is officially going back to Sweden. FC Dallas has announced a deal that sends the fourth year midfielder to Swedish side GAIS, a second division team in the Swedish soccer system. The terms of the transfer were not announced but knowing that there was a transfer fee involved means FCD at least got a little something for him.
Last year Warshaw had a heck of a summer and fall in Sweden with Angelholms. He scored nine goals and had one assists in his loan to the second division side.
GAIS finished 7th in last years Supperettan. GAIS is one of the oldest clubs in Sweden. The club was a founding member of Allsvenskan and also the first champions of the league. They have won a total of four national championship titles, five league championship titles and one national cup title.
That wasn't the only move of the day for FCD. The club also announced that they have waived Homegrown forward Bradlee Baladez and keeper Kyle Zobeck.
Baladez signed a Homegrown contract with FC Dallas prior to the start of the 2013 season. He played 27 minutes in a 0-0 draw with Montreal on July 20. Zobeck was a supplemental draft pick in 2013 and started four matches for the FC Dallas Reserves.
Seeing that Baladez got waived is a bit of a shock as he seemed like the most likely candidate to go out on loan this season.
There still could be more moves on the way this week, just like we mentioned the club has to get roster compliant (no more than 30 signed players) by the end of the week.
