FC Dallas to Play San Antonio Scorpions in Final Preseason Tune-up

The first meeting between the two Texan clubs will be on March 1.

This had been a rumor for some time but now it is official. FC Dallas will travel to San Antonio on March 1 to face the NASL Scorpions in their final preseason match. Kickoff is set for 7pm.

The match will serve as the final tune-up for 2014 season, which begins on March 8 at Toyota Stadium against Montreal.

The two clubs will battle for the deeproot Funds Cup with proceeds benefitting Soccer for a Cause and Morgan's Wonderland, a 25-acre theme part in San Antonio designed with special-needs individuals of all ages in mind.

"We are very excited to travel to San Antonio to play the Scorpions," said FC Dallas President Dan Hunt. "They are a fine organization and San Antonio is a very good soccer market. We look forward to competing against them for the deeproot Funds Cup at Toyota Field. It will be a great test for our players as we prepare for our home opener."

San Antonio expects this match to sell out according to the press release sent over by FC Dallas. For more information on tickets, call 210.495.8686 or visit www.sascorpions.com.
