Richard Sanchez earned his third straight shutout for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on Saturday as they tied the San Antonio Scorpions 0-0.
The third straight shutout also extends the Strikers is also the club's longest since they were rebranded back in 2011.
Sanchez had several key stops along the way, as the draw kept the Strikers tied for first place in the fall season with the Tampa Bay Rowdies and the Carolina Railhawks.
Sanchez first came up big in the 12th minute on a vicious 25-yard shot from Walter Ramirez. The Mexican youth international then denied Hans Denissen's close-range effort on the half-hour mark with an acrobatic save.
Fort Lauderdale struggled to score despite playing with a man advantage for a good portion of the second half. Fellow FC Dallas loanee Bradlee Baladez came off the bench in the second half but was not able to help lift the Strikers.
The Strikers head out on the road against FC Edmonton on Sunday, September 15th, before returning to Lockhart to take on The New York Cosmos on Saturday, September 21st.
