Week two in college soccer is typically about groups of teams getting together to play mini tournaments. That usually also means there are some big time matches throughout the land.
Here is how the FC Dallas Academy folks did in week 2:
Boyd Okwuono (North Carolina) - The Tar Heels tied number 4 Notre Dame, 1-1 on Sunday. Okuwono played the full 110 minutes in the draw. UNC will play Maryland this week in an early season ACC battle.
Mikey Ambrose (Maryland) - On Friday, Maryland downed Duke 3-1. Ambrose had one assist in the match where he played the full 90. On Sunday, Maryland was upset by VCU at home 3-2. Ambrose played the full game in this one, registering one shot on goal.
Nicholas Rochowski (New Mexico) - Big weekend for the Lobos as they tied VCU on Friday, 1-1 and then beat Georgetown on Sunday. Rochowski scored the game winner over Georgetown in the 1-0 win.
Jake Coleman (Duke) - Coleman played 69 minutes in the 3-1 loss to Maryland on Friday. Duke will host Georgia Southern tomorrow evening.
Aaron Guillen (Florida Gulf Coast) - FGC dropped their home opener to FIU on Friday in a wild 4-3 match. Guillen played the full 90 in the loss.
Mark Ashby (Harvard) - Harvard lost both of their matches on the weekend. Ashby started both losses.
Skylar Jagun (Old Dominon) - ODU lost their opener 4-0 to William and Mary on Saturday. Jagun did not see any action in the loss.
Jaime Ibarra (SMU) - Another tough weekend for SMU, losing both matches to SIUE and Ohio State. Ibarra started and played in both losses.
Jordan Cano (SMU) - The freshman midfielder did not see the field in either loss over the weekend.
Marco Carrizales (SMU) - He came off the bench against SIUE on Friday but started in the Ohio State match.
Damian Rosales (SMU) - He started both matches over the weekend. Against SIUE he had one shot.
Caleb Underwood (SMU) - The freshman keeper did not see any action over the weekend.
Abdul Yassine (SMU) - The freshman forward/midfielder did not see the field in either loss over the weekend.
Bobby Edet (Furman) - Furman beat the College of Charleston in OT on Saturday. Edet started and had three shots in the win.
Marco Ortiz (Furman) - The freshman midfielder started in the 1-0 win over the College of Charleston.
Morgan Dizney (Dayton) - Two wins for the Flyers this weekend but Dizney did not see action in either one.
Jesus Dominguez (Liberty) - The Freshman defender started in the 4-0 win over IUPUI.
Victor Portillo (Liberty) - The Freshman midfielder came off the bench in the 4-0 win over IUPUI.
Fernando Laverde (Central Florida) - The Knights had a win and a loss on the weekend. Laverde had one goal in the win over FIU on Friday. He started both matches on the weekend.
Kristoffer Reaves (Wake Forest) - The freshman outside back did not see any action in the 2-0 win over Boston College this weekend.
