Bradlee Baladez Scores, Sanchez Earns First Shutout Win

FCD loanees help Fort Lauderdale earn their second straight win on Saturday.

Things are starting to get very well for both FC Dallas loanees in Fort Lauderdale. Bradlee Baladez netted his first goal in the 34th minute on Saturday as the Fort Lauderdale Strikers earned their second straight win of the fall season. Fort Lauderdale downed the Atlanta Silverbacks, the NASL spring champions, 1-0 on the night.

The win in Atlanta also earned FC Dallas homegrown keeper Richard Sanchez his second straight win and first shutout of the year with the Strikers. Sanchez has played every minute of all four fall season games for the Strikers so far.

Sanchez made several big stops down in the second half as Atlanta pressed for a game-tying goal. The homegrown nearly cost his team the three points though late in the game as he took a back pass from a defender and picked it up in his penalty box. On the free kick, Fort Lauderdale placed nearly everyone in the goal to help preserve the shutout.

The Strikers return to the pitch on Friday, again hitting the road, this time to face the Carolina Railhawks, a club coached by former FC Dallas manager Colin Clarke.
