FC DALLAS HEAD COACH SCHELLAS HYNDMAN
Thoughts on the game:
"It was a really strange game and a great comeback on our part. I thought we did enough things in the first half, but the chances we had, we kicked them to the stands, or made poor choices on services. I thought they moved the ball well and created some good services on us; [Chivas USA] scored a good goal. Second half, we pushed forward. This was a game we really needed, we got 11 goals without a win and we started off the season very well and it was very frustrating that we haven't been winning. The attitude and the belief have all been dropping. We came out with three points, we were down a man, it didn't seem like we were playing quite well and our substitutes made a difference, especially David [Ferreira] and Ramon [Nuñez]. They showed great character, great desire to win and on the road, we'll take it."
On ending the 11-game winless streak:
"It is a great relief. I think after the first five games that we hadn't lost, the media kept telling me how many games we haven't lost and when it got to 11, it affected the family, it affected the sleep, everybody because we're really fortunate we had such a good start because it keeps us in the belief that we can still get in the playoffs. It is a great relief and we're just so happy and proud of the players."
On not giving up:
"Maybe in a different time and a different standing, we might've looked at going back with another defender and just be happy to walk away from here with one point. But those aren't the times, it's a time of 11 games without a win and we've got San Jose coming in on Saturday and we need to get a win. The whole mentality of the guys, in fact we made another offensive substitution with Ramon and that really paid off for us."
FC DALLAS MDFIELDER DAVID FERREIRA
Thoughts on the game:
"I feel very happy. It's a huge joy because the team had been looking for this result for a while and we hadn't been able to get it. Thank God that tonight we were able to earn this very important result."
"I always have that responsibility with the team. I knew that we had to get out of the situation at any given time. I think the play was very beautiful; God blessed me with the goal and it was a great joy because I haven't scored in a while and even more because the team wasn't earning the result that we wanted. Tonight, the score was in our favor; we were able to infiltrate, get a goal and help the team earn three very important points."
On the team's performance despite going a man down:
"We knew that independently from going a man down, we needed to continue fighting because we came in with the determination to get a win. We had a challenge in the game and the team didn't give up, they kept working, looking for the goal and thank God we were able to get the result. Right now, I'm very happy but we have to turn the page and start thinking about our next game on Saturday and hopefully we can get the result that will put us among the top teams."
FC DALLAS MIDFIELDER RAMON NUÑEZ
Thoughts on the game:
"They were much-needed three points. We're fortunate to come out of this game and to have won the game. We knew it was going to be a tough game coming in; Chivas is always a tough opponent for Dallas, but I think we all knew the necessity of the three points and luckily we got them."
"It was special for me because I've been out for a long time due to injury, that's something of the past. And it was my first goal back from injury so it was something special in that sense and also because I was also able to help the team."
