Blas Perez To Miss Panama's Game Against The United States

Mitchell Layton

The veteran striker suffered an injury during the 0-0 draw against Mexico on Friday.

Well this doesn't sound good at all. Last year we saw Blas Perez go off with Panama for some international matches only to come back with an injured foot. This time around he has suffered a different injury.

The Panamanian soccer federation on Saturday night announced that FC Dallas forward will not be traveling to Seattle due to a case of gastroenteritis. This will leave Panama without arguably their best attacking option for their game with the United States on Tuesday.

Perez is going to remain in Panama for the time being.

For those that are wondering what exactly gastroenteritis actually is, well, for short it is the stomach flu. Perez picked up the virus at some point either during or after Friday's scoreless World Cup qualifying draw against Mexico at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City according to some local reports.

So while this is good news for US men's national team fans around the country, for us here in Dallas, we just hope Perez can bounce back quickly when he returns to North Texas later this month.
