As expected Blas Perez will miss some more action with FC Dallas in July as he has been named to Panama's 23-man roster for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Perez and Panama are in a tough Group A with Mexico, Canada and Martinique.
Panama also called up former FC Dallas defender Carlos Rodriguez as well.
Perez is one of 32 Major League Soccer players that will be participating in this year's regional tournament. Belize, Cuba and Mexico are the only teams without a single MLS representative. Click here for the full rosters from CONCACAF.
Following the conclusion of the group stage, teams are allowed to make up to four replacements to their 23-man rosters, drawing reinforcements from the original 35-man provisional roster announced last month. No other FC Dallas players will be involved in the Gold Cup.
Panama opens group play with Mexico on July 7 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. They will then play Martinique on July 11 in Seattle and finish up group play with a match in Denver on July 14 against Canada. Should Perez and Panama advance out of their group, the quarterfinals will begin on July 20 or 21.
The semifinal rounds are being hosted at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX on July 24. And should Perez and Panama do the unthinkable and reach the final, it will be on July 28 in Chicago.
