Wednesday is an absolutely huge day in the US Soccer scene and it has almost nothing to do with FC Dallas. That's right, the US Men's National Team begins the final Hexagonal round of qualifying away to Honduras. The game kicks off at 3PM on BeIn Sport and you might find me at The Londoner watching it.
While it's just the first game, the away qualifier at Honduras is a real swing game for the nats as a win would really set them off to a great start while a loss just raises the pressure with Mexico looming.
Another huge game that can't be forgotten as well is Panama's qualifier at Costa Rica with Blas Perez likely starting for La Marea Roja. That game will be on BeIn Sport at 8PM on Wednesday night. In the other CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier, Mexico hosts Jamaica and that game will be shown on ESPN2 at 8:30.
After watching the US stumble against Canada, it's tough to have a lot of optimism for this game. San Pedro Sula is an extremely tough place to go win and while Honduras had the Copa Centroamericana to work out any kinks, much of the USMNT squad arrived from overseas in Miami on Sunday before jetting right out to Honduras.
I'll say Honduras 2-1, but I hope I'm wrong.
Also, Panama 1 Costa Rica 1 and Mexico 3 Jamaica 0
