Part 2 of our staff predictions!

MLS Cup Champion

Daniel Robertson

I think this is finally the year where Seattle puts it all together and wins the title. The addition of Obafemi Martins is arguably an upgrade from Fredy Montero and the rest of their packed and deep squad returns. They finally take home the Cup.

Phillip Long

Seattle still has the talent from the past few years and finally puts it together. I must say it would be deserved.

Alfredo Cuvi

I have a hard time seeing someone beating the LA Galaxy in a playoff game, especially if Donovan comes back.

Brian Wachholz

San Jose learns to defend and maintains their season form into the playoffs to sweep.

Steve Fenn

The playoffs are such a crap shoot. Let's say Seattle

Jay Neal

This team has underachieved in the playoffs every season. Losing Montero hurts but I really think with Eddie Johnson reawakening to become a top striker in the league they are due for an MLS Cup.

Drew Epperley

Seattle

Mo Bushnaq

New York Red Bulls. Henry gets his MLS Cup and rides off into the sunset a hero. Petke looks like a genius and becomes the next big American coach.

MLS Golden Boot Winner

Drew Epperley

Robbie Keane

Mo Bushnaq

Robbie Keane does his badass celebration 19 times en route to the Golden Boot.

Phillip Long

Not sure someone is going to beat out Wondo. He is the focal point of their offense.

Jay Neal

Eddie Johnson: He proved the doubters, including myself, very very wrong last season and will continue to do so this year (both with DC and the USMNT).

Daniel Robertson

I'm going to go with an upset here and say Alvaro Saborio. RSL is going to rely on him heavily to score the goals this year and I think that he ends up taking him the golden boot despite a struggling season for RSL.

Brian Wachholz

Thierry Henry

Alfredo Cuvi

Robbie Keane. With Donovan out, Keane will get lots and lots of chances.

Steve Fenn

Thierry Henry. NYRB will need to score lots of goals, and much of that will fall to him.

Overachieving team

Alfredo Cuvi

The Rapids look capable of punching above their weight, especially with Year 2 giving Pareja more time to tune things.

Steve Fenn

Had they kept Jesse Marsch, I'd say Montreal. Since the Impact screwed that up I'm going with New England (who were largely unlucky in 2012).

Drew Epperley

Columbus Crew

Daniel Robertson

I really like what New England has done this offseason. With Jerry Bengtson to lead the line and Jay Heaps in his second year, I see huge improvement out of them.

Phillip Long

Toronto has the best new jerseys so their swag will carry over to the field. Yes, I just used swag.

Jay Neal

DC United: I really like Ben Olson and what he's been doing with his squad. Nick DeLeon has a very bright future ahead of him and could really become an X factor for this team.

Brian Wachholz

Portland. Will end the season a top three team and make the semi-finals of the playoffs.

Mo Bushnaq

Portland Timbers. I think they play well enough to make the playoffs and possibly make noise when they get there.

Underachieving team

Daniel Robertson

I think San Jose is going to stumble out of the gates a bit and be catching up most of the first half of the season. That's not to say they won't do well in the playoffs but I don't see them getting close to the supporters shield again

Drew Epperley

San Jose

Brian Wachholz

Seattle. They will bomb out of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup in the early stages.

Steve Fenn

Sporting Kansas City will miss Espinoza and Kamara. Not enough to miss the playoffs, but they're backsliding.

Phillip Long

Houston has been so good the past few years and they are due for a down year. And I hate them.

Jay Neal

Sporting Kansas City: SKC's season depends on their strikers to a.) stay healthy and b.) grow up. Kei Kamara was the veteran on the front line for SKC and without him can the young guns in Sapong and Bunbury grow to the level of muture forwards. If either one of these things doesn't happen, I think SKC are in a lot of trouble.

Alfredo Cuvi

Chivas, and by a big, big margin. Building a team out of sticky tack and latino-branded tape is no sure-fire way to victory.

Mo Bushnaq

San Jose Earthquakes. They won't underachieve much in regards to making the playoffs, but I doubt they will be Supporter's Shield Champions again. The West is loaded. They will not overachieve and they will not repeat, so they will underachieve.

Bold Prediction (MLS based)

Phillip Long

I'll keep it local. We are going to fill a big need and move someone from our back line mid-season. Trade from you strength.

Mo Bushnaq

It's time for the 20th team in MLS. Cosmos or Orlando City will be named the 20th team before the end of the season. NYC are working hard to be IT, but I feel like there is something wacky going down in Florida. I wouldn't be shocked of Orlando City were number 20.

Jay Neal

Toronto FC will make the playoffs this year. All of their offseason moves make sense and I don't know that there was another team that worked the draft to their advantage like TFC did.

Alfredo Cuvi

The Quakes will be incapable of repeating last season's form and suffer with inferior defending. At the end of the season they will be sitting below 5th.

Brian Wachholz

This year, an MLS team will win the CONCACAF Champions League.

Daniel Robertson

Frank Lampard is a member of the LA Galaxy by the end of the summer

Steve Fenn

By this time next year, a Chivas USA front office employee will publicly discuss rebranding.

Drew Epperley

A MLS team will knock out a Mexican team in the group stage of the CCL this fall.
