With two games left on the season, it appears that some key players could be shut down for the rest of the season due to injuries. The team has not sent out an official injury report but I was able to confirm that a couple players are likely going to be out this weekend as FC Dallas takes on the Seattle Sounders.
First up the ones we know are out include Ugo Ihemelu (concussion symptoms), Eric Hassli (lower back) and London Woodberry (knee). Only Woodberry is not on the disabled list but I would imagine he won't play another game this season given his knee injury that he suffered a few weeks ago.
Outside of those three there are three regular starters, keeper Raul Fernandez (hip), defender George John (knee) and midfielder Mauro Diaz (MCL) who all will likely be done for the rest of the season.
Fernandez has been dealing with a hip injury for the last couple of week, which has kept him out of the last two matches. He is questionable this week with what the club is calling a hip flexor strain. As it is something I can personally attest to, hip flexors are always very tricky to deal with. For someone who dives onto their hips regularly like a goalkeeper would, you have to imagine that a long season like this year has really worn on Fernandez's body.
Diaz has a strained MCL according to the team. I can't imagine a situation in the final two games that the club would risk playing him.
John is dealing with a knee injury of his own. I'm told he did have a MRI on it but there wasn't anything serious that came from that. He is going to be out this weekend with what the club is calling a patella tendon strain.
