EDIT: Ives Galarcep is reporting that it is indeed Stoke City that has agreed a deal for Brek who is headed over for Tuesday physical. What a wild week.

In a completely unexpected turn of events, Brek Shea is headed across to Europe.

FC Dallas confirmed as much in a statement posted on the team website late Monday afternoon.

We have received interest from a number of European clubs regarding Brek Shea. Brek is traveling there this evening and as a result, he will not be in attendance at training tomorrow. Currently, there is no deal in place with any club and we have no further details at this time.

With a fee rumored to have been agreed with English Premier League side Stoke City last week only to be scuppered by MLS, it was thought that Shea's on again off again move to Europe was definitely off. I was told as much by multiple people on Friday when Shea practiced fully with the team.

To further indicate that the deal was dead, Shea's image has been returned to marketing materials. It would suggest, however, that either Stoke has come back with a much improved deal or another mystery club has money whipped the Frisco team into a decision they couldn't refuse.
