It was a minor shock when Brek Shea was at FC Dallas training on Monday night as quotes from Stoke City boss Tony Pulis suggested the big Texan was on his way across the pond for a week-long trial with a view to a full transfer.
However, it seems that move has hit a snag. Both ESPNFC and The Sentinel are reporting that while FC Dallas & Stoke have agreed on a fee, MLS is not allowing the deal to go through as the fee is too low. We saw nearly this exact same thing happen in the Geoff Cameron transfer so I would imagine this story is far from over, but it does seem to have taken an interesting twist.
The question is now twofold: Will MLS and Stoke work out a price to send Shea overseas or could FC Dallas keep their winger and hope that he raises his stock through the spring making the price they reportedly agreed to look like beans?
