The list of coaching candidates for FC Dallas continues to shrink by the day it seems.
Not that Seattle Sounders FC coach Sigi Schmid was ever officially on their list, but it seems as though the Sounders won't be making any decisions on Schmid's status with the Sounders for another couple of weeks, that is according to Dave Clark at SounderatHeart.com.
The future of Sigi Schmid and his relationship with Seattle Sounders FC is still up in the air. It is a decision that Hanauer says he and controlling owner Joe Roth will make over the next few weeks.
The next few weeks huh? That isn't good timing for FC Dallas they continue to search for a new manager. Dallas has stated a couple times this offseason that they want a new coach in place by the end of November if all possible. That way the new manager can help with player re-signings and other roster moves that need to take place for the end of the 2013 calendar.
First Oscar Pareja, then Tab Ramos and now possibly Schmid. The breadcrumb trail is really starting to go weird ways in this process. Later this week I will be on a media call with Dan Hunt and Fernando Clavijo to discuss this coaching search and likely a few other items. I'm not expecting anything to be announced that day but hopefully some light will be shed on the direction the club is actually going here.
