Sanchez to backup Hartman tomorrow, not Seitz

Stay connected for news and updates

A very interesting bit of news came out today that back up goalkeeper Chris Seitz did not make the trip west to San Jose due to illness. Third string keeper Richard Sanchez did however and will be the back up to Kevin Hartman tomorrow night as FC Dallas faces the San Jose Earthquakes.

FC Dallas manager Schellas Hyndman told the Dallas Morning News that Sanchez will be ready if he is called into action.

"There's no doubt Richard will be fine," Hyndman said. "This takes him out of his age bracket. This is the difficult part."

This is a pretty interesting development but more than likely we'll just see the 18-year old Sanchez sit on the bench rather than see him on the field in play for the first time with FC Dallas.

Sanchez has started for the Mexican U17 and U20 national teams and won the U17 World Cup with Mexico last year.
