Normally you want as many players as possible called up to national teams, it's great for your players and raises the overall profile of the club. However, I don't think anyone will be complaining about the news that Brek Shea has been left out of the USMNT camp for friendlies against Scotland, Brazil and Canada as well as the qualifiers vs Antigua/Barbuda and Guatemala.
While Shea will probably be disappointed, it cannot be denied that the winger is still probably at about 75-80% with his turf toe and going to a camp with five games in two and a half weeks will likely send him back to Dallas even worse than when he left. Also, there is the very good news that Shea's three game suspension will served fully this week with the two games against Chicago and Real Salt Lake meaning Shea will be available for the derby in Houston.
