Another Thriller: Noonan Steals a Point

CARSON, CA - APRIL 28: Blas Perez #9 of FC Dallas falls to th field after being fouled by A.J. DeLa Garza #20 of the Los Angeles Galaxy at The Home Depot Center on April 28, 2012 in Carson, California. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. (Photo by Stephen Dunn/Getty Images)

I told you before the game that when these guys meet it's usually exciting and tonight was no exception. Coming out of halftime 0-0, Robbie Keane missed a penalty early in the second half, but Brek Shea converted his second penalty in as many games to give FC Dallas a 1-0 lead. They nearly held onto the lead for a massive win, but Pat Noonan rolled back the years and his late strike earned a vital point for the Galaxy.

Still, I think everyone would've been happy with a point after this one, but the circumstances certainly make it a frustrating result. Dallas sits with a respectable 12 points from 9 games, seven points out of first place in the West, while the Galaxy are sitting just behind FCD on ten points.

Having missed the first half and watching the second half with an eye on the Mavericks game (and some other drama), I can't really provide any sort of meaningful analysis until I watch the game again tomorrow. I do know that the locals are very restless with Jair Benitez after his great performance on Wednesday. We'll have a lot more to digest tomorrow, but what did you see from this one and was this a point gained or two points lost?
