Brek Shea and the US U23 National Team took on Cuba tonight in their first of three group stage games on the road to the 2012 London Olympics. Our island neighbors to the south provided little resistance as the United States walked out 6-0 winners.

Shea had a nice night with one assist on the scoresheet, a pinpoint cross headed home by Juan Agudelo for the second goal, while another of the Texan's crosses was sent home for an own goal. Brek was subbed out in the 57th minute for Joe Gyau.

It was a nice night for Shea with the two assists and perhaps the best part was that he didn't pick up an injury while never really getting out of second gear. The star of the show was Joe Corona who completed his hat trick late in the second half of the rout.

For the United States, the focus now turns to Canada who they will face at 6PM on Saturday. Next up for FCD players in qualifying is Carlos Rodriguez and Panama who will take on Honduras at 8PM tomorrow evening.
