US Men's Olympic Team to Host Camp & Friendly in Frisco
It's looking like the Women's National Team game vs New Zealand could be a sellout on Saturday and the USSF is sending another big game to FC Dallas Stadium as the U23 Men's Olympic Team will host a camp beginning on February 19 culminating in a friendly against Mexico U23 Olympic Team at 9PM on Wednesday, February 29.
"This game is very important for our players and comes at a critical time for us before the start of Olympic qualifying," said Porter. "In this camp we expect to have the majority of the players who are in contention for final roster spots for qualifying. A match against Mexico will serve as a great measuring stick both individually and collectively as we put the finishing touches on our roster selection."

Hope they hire a good security firm
I thought the 22-year old, 100-lb woman working security for the Mexico game at Cowboys Stadium during the Gold Cup a while back was going to get trampled. Apparently a walkie-talkie is not the best deterrent for 50 or so Mexico fans who decided they were going to watch the game from the front of the aisle.

Can't wait.
But why is the game at 9PM, and those are pricey tickets for a U-23 game.

The more I think about ticket prices...
the crazier it seems — it’s just a friendly and some of the best U-23’s will presumably be in Italy or Miami. SUM must believe they’ll be able to get Mexico fans to come out in huge numbers. Hopefully the FCD FO is standing over their shoulders taking notes.

It will be
very interesting to see what kind of crowd comes out with the USWNT game a few weeks earlier and the FCD season opener 11 days later.
Either way, should be a fun night at PHP. There was 10K+ for USA v MExico U20s at Dallas Cup a few years ago so 15K+ is realistic.

Senior team plays in Italy that afternoon
This will likely be all fringe players that are trying to earn an Olympic spot. Probably no Brek, Timmy Chandler or Jozy since they’d certainly be in Italy that day if available. Maybe Adu, Agudelo, Bunbury, Hamid, etc. if Jurgen passes them over for that day.

Here's my best guess at the most likely U-23 selections for the Olympics
Player Club
Jozy Altidore Netherlands AZ Alkmaar
Freddy Adu United States Philadelphia Union
Juan Agudelo United States New York Red Bulls
Brek Shea United States FC Dallas
Timothy Chandler Germany Nürnberg
Teal Bunbury United States Sporting Kansas City
Daniel Williams Germany Hoffenheim
Mikkel Diskerud Belgium Gent
Anthony Wallace United States Colorado Rapids
Sean Johnson United States Chicago Fire
Gale Agbossoumonde United States Carolina RailHawks
Bill Hamid United States DC United
Ike Opara United States San Jose Earthquakes
Sheanon Williams United States Philadelphia Union
Michael Stephens United States Los Angeles Galaxy
Perry Kitchen United States DC United
Josh Gatt Norway Molde
Joe Corona Mexico Club Tijuana
Greg Garza Mexico Club Tijuana
Sebastian Lletget England West Ham United
Conor Doyle England Derby County
Omar Salgado Canada Vancouver Whitecaps
Tony Taylor Portugal Estoril
Isaac Acuña Mexico Mérida
Royal-Dominique Fennell Germany Stuttgarter Kickers
Jared Jeffrey Germany Mainz

Like your selections but...
I am afraid that Chandler, Williams and Altidore may not get released by their clubs to play. Apparently the Olympics not being a FIFA event does not require the teams to release players.
Agreed.
Jurgen and Caleb will certainly have some interesting conversations with those guys’ clubs over the next few months.

Can't wait
to get a chance to come out to a few of the practices.
FCD leaves for Orlando just a couple days after the U23’s get here so I don’t know if there will be a friendly between the two, but that would be pretty cool if possible.
