Chris Seitz's Biggest Save

Why Chris Seitz hasn't been around much lately...

Normally, when a player has been on the injured list for the last 6 weeks due to "Illness" it would raise question marks that we would surely ask Schellas after practice and talk about right here on the website.

When I heard a few weeks ago exactly why Chris Seitz wasn't around, suddenly it made all the sense in the world.

If you haven't seen the story, FCD backup keeper Chris Seitz was found to be the closest match for someone needing bone marrow and he heroically donated his bone marrow about a month ago in New York. Since then, he has gradually come out to practice more and more, assisting the coaching staff and other various duties trying to stay involved.

As someone who also registered for the DKMS bone marrow donor list and was found to be a match for someone, I can, in a very small way, understand how Seitz felt. I personally went through the stages of giving blood and was ready to go to the east coast when, a couple weeks before, they found a better donor and I wasn't needed.

Please read the story and the accompanying article with the author. Seitzy is pretty much a hero.
