2012 FC Dallas Schedule Released

FRISCO TX - OCTOBER 30: FC Dallas fans celebrate after FC Dallas beat Real Salt Lake 2-1 at Pizza Hut Park on October 30 2010 in Frisco Texas. (Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images)

The MLS schedule was released today giving us the full FCD schedule for the upcoming 2012 season. Major kudos to MLS for getting the schedule out early for once rather than waiting until the last minute.

A few quick hits:

-The second game of the season will be Saturday March 17 as FCD hosts Portland, 730PM at PHP

-FCD will play on NBC Sports Network 5 times this year and on ESPN networks twice. The two home games from those will be the home opener against New York and against Los Angeles on July 28

-8 of the 17 home games are on Saturday nights with just one early afternoon game, the home opener against New York. Dallas will play three Sunday 6PM games with only the September 2 game against Seattle coming in a summer month.

-The start times for 5 of the 6 home games in June, July and August have been moved back to 8PM. A fantastic move by FCD and one that has been needed for a long time.

- From the Eastern Conference, FC Dallas hosts New York, Montreal, New England, Philadelphia, and Toronto while they travel to Kansas City, DC United, Columbus, Chicago, and Houston.

-From the Western Conferece, Dallas hosts Portland, Colorado, Seattle, and Chivas USA twice while they travel to RSL, Vancouver, LA, and San Jose twice.

-The lone FCD vs Houston rivalry game will take place on Saturday, June 16 at 4PM in Houston at their brand new BBVA Compass Bank Stadium.

not bad

some oddities but I see us with around 63 points at the end of the season.

perhaps you can add that as a little game for this coming year? place your guess on total points for 2012

Especially for someone who thinks Ferreira will be crap this year!

I’d be very happy with 50. Reserves will need to really step up to get the team much beyond that.

did i say he would be crap?

no, i question him hitting the form we’ve seen him at…. go back a couple of posts, i wasn’t the guy who said let him go.

Four home games during the week

I was hoping for less but the schedule must not allow all weekend games. I don’t mind missing the New England and Toronto game but Seattle and RSL is disappointing. At least Seattle is coming twice.

We all hate Houston!!

Mid year match should be interesting. Too bad it will be just one game.

both trophy games are away...

The Brimeston cup and the canon games will both be played away this year. That STINKS!!!!!!! Would of liked at leaste one of those games here. Although it is good that we are playing Houston away so that I can go to the new stadium and root passionalely against them instead of just checking it out for a random game.

Worried about attendance

Half (ok, 8/17ths) of our home games are on either Sunday or weekday nights, which have not been as good draws as Saturdays over the past couple of years.

PHP

Hah! I am sure Daniel will get used to it. (unless there is something I am missing, is it pepsi hut park now?)
Would be nice if the schedule told me what day of the week the games are. I am too lazy to check. From what Beard-o says, I hope there are a minimum on Tuesday or Thursday.

Not the first time or the last that’ll happen

Home: 1 Thursday, 3 Wednesday, 4 Sunday, 9 Saturday
Away: 1 Friday, 3 Wednesday, 5 Sunday, 8 Saturday

I had just created a file with the games to upload into Outlook and I put the day of the week in it. In Excel you can easily get the day of the week for a date.

Check the Inferno board

I posted the full schedule with the days of the week there, because it annoyed me that the days weren’t on the schedule on FCD’s site. IIRC there’s 9 Saturday, 4 Sunday, 2 Wednesday, 1 Thursday, 1 Friday.

Wednesday 4/25, 5/9 and 7/4

does the inferno have any connections/presence in San Antonio?

looking for road trips/bus share in second half of the 2012 season after our family moves down there. Particularly to Colorado or RSL.

I know a diehard FCD fan

that lives in San Antonio. He’s involved with the Crocketeers, name is Rich Moore.

sweet

hope to link up with the Crocketteers once we get out of this hellhole. Maybe go see some San Antonio Scorpions games…for as long as a non-profit NASL team lasts, at least.
