I'm about to head to Allen Wickers for USA v Panama but if you're stuck at home to watch this one, the game is on Galavision or ESPN3.com and starts at 7:30.

Brek Shea and Zach Loyd vs Blas Perez and Carlos Rodriguez....A packed Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City. This one should be a good one!

nice ball from Loyd on opening goal

Loyd and Shea both playing well so far.

Looked like Rodriguez pressured Wondo well, but nobody covered Zusi who had an easy strike.

Blas gets his head on a corner..

It’s gone well over. Encouraging as he is a target forward though.

Rodriguez took a free kick for Panama

Carlos has had a couple nice plays so far. His free kick wasn’t great, but as bad as FCD’s been on those I’m just glad they now have someone that earned the right to take one at this level.

Yeah tell me about it.

Free kicks were abysmal. Ferreira helps that coming back hopefully.

Wow Panama's keeper.

Just stoned Jermaine Jones and Wondo.

Blas Perez...

Good shot stuffed by Nick Rimando.

Uh-oh

Zach Loyd subbed out before half. Injury?

by mobushnaq on Jan 25, 2012 8:19 PM CST reply actions

not that i caught

Loyd was moving much better than Rimando his last 10 minutes. In a friendly Klinsi might have liked Loys and wanted to see more than 45’ from Pearce. Who knows.

Half-time 1-0.

FCD players so far:
Zach: did well until he got subbed out. Injured possibly assisted on the goal.
Brek: Was involved in one or two attacks but other than that not much.
Rodriguez: Involved in one or two attacks as well. Hooked up well on a one-two with Blas Perez.
Blas: Typical target forward was around a lot of chances in the first half and was robbed of a goal by Nick Rimando. Exactly what Dallas needs in a forward. He should free up some runs and set David and Brek up.

Geoff Cameron ejected...

Blas Perez is the one who draws the red.

I don't know...

What to think about that red… it seemed like a shove to me?

Final 1-0 USA.

Brek had a mediocre second half. Blas missed some chances and I really did not see Rodriguez much.

Yikes

Brek: bring him home, he seems to be regressing or got too used to playing with van Persie.
Loyd: started slow with a couple of turnovers, then hung out to dry on his yellow due to bad turnover in midfield. looked to be leading the backline, barking instructions as cameron looked lost several times (and easily could’ve easily given up a goal as his man ran through the box unmarked but missed the cross…the guy loyd was pointing at cameron to cover!)
Blas: missed a really good chance but i like where he positioned himself on the field and bet his “heat map” analysis had him in the box or at the tip of the spear on attack for the entire game.
C-rod didnt notice much but seemed ok, shoes were bright

Brek's D was nice

Shea wasn’t sharp enough in the final third, but I think he covered a lot of ground and had some impressive moments on the other side of the pitch.
