US Men's National Team vs Venezuela - Brek Shea and Zach Loyd in Action

The first significant American soccer match of 2012 will take place on Saturday evening as the US Men's National Team takes on Venezuela from the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. The match takes place at 8PM Central Time and can be seen on Galavision and ESPN3.com. There will be watching parties hosted by American Outlaws at Allen Wickers and the Trinity Hall faithful will surely have the game on as well. If you can't make it to watch the game somewhere, be sure to give us your thoughts on Shea, Loyd and the USA's play right here.

For FC Dallas fans, the game is especially interesting as it's the first look at Brek Shea and Zach Loyd in 2012. Shea enjoyed a breakout 2011 season but was hampered by fatigue towards the end of a long and arduous season. It will be very interesting to see how Brek looks after a nice rest.

Zach Loyd could be making his return to the national team for a second cap almost exactly a year to the date of his first one against Chile. The FCD right back has gotten significant time in two friendlies against the U23 side and should be either a starter or second half substitute in tomorrow's match.

After the game tomorrow, the nats will head down to Panama for a friendly on Wednesday night against a Panamanian side featuring new FCD signings Blas Perez and Carlos Rodriguez. That game is scheduled to kickoff at 730 Central Time and will also be available on Galavision and ESPN3.com.

Was it...

Just me or was that game the most painful 96 minutes ever? The pitch was not high quality.

I think it had less to do with the pitch,

and more to do with a less than cohesive group on the field coupled with a dirty Venezuela team.

A man from Dallas who bleeds red, not silver and blue.

Maybe I was being a bit rash on the field.

Yeah the Venezuelan team wasn’t really fun to watch but they’re a team built to counter attack Brazil and Argentina what do you expect? Haha.

It wasn't the best

but you can’t expect a lot from a January game of MLS players. The crowd in Phoenix was great.
