Zach Loyd and Brek Shea Called Into US Camp
FC Dallas will once again be represented on the national team stage next weekend. Both defender Zach Loyd and midfielder Brek Shea were called into Jurgen Klinsmann's 24-man roster for the upcoming friendlies with Costa Rica and Belgium.
This marks the second call in a row for these two. It comes at a big time in the season of course for Dallas as they are in the middle of a packed season with the regular season games, the USOC and the CONCACAF Champions League.
(Read on for the rest of the roster and more thoughts)
For the most part this shouldn't impact the club too much. Both will be in camp next week, likely after the club's USOC semifinal game next Tuesday with the club. Even if the team meets earlier in LA I would imagine Klinsmann will allow Shea and Loyd to join them once the USOC game is over.
It does however mean that neither will be available for the Tigres friendly next weekend on the 3rd. To be fair, I would imagine that Schellas Hyndman was planning on resting those two and a few other starters for that game anyways.
Below is the full roster, what do you all think?
GOALKEEPERS (2): Bill Hamid (D.C.United), Tim Howard (Everton)
DEFENDERS (9): Carlos Bocanegra (Rangers), Edgar Castillo (Club America), Timmy Chandler (FC Nürnberg), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover), Clarence Goodson (Brondby), Zach Loyd (FC Dallas), Michael
Orozco Fiscal (San Luis), Heath Pearce (Chivas USA), Tim Ream (New York Red Bulls)
MIDFIELDERS (9): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Clint Dempsey (Fulham), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht), Jeff Larentowicz (Colorado Rapids), Robbie Rogers (Columbus Crew), Brek Shea (FC Dallas), Jose Torres (Pachuca)
FORWARDS (4): Juan Agudelo (New York Red Bulls), Jozy Altidore (AZ Alkmaar), Teal Bunbury (Sporting Kansas City), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy)

John
Looks like he misses another chance being tied up with the BBR transfer… man I’d really like him to get a shot lol. It would awesome to get a list of who Klinsy is talking with besides the guys on the roster.
Grats to Zack and Brek again!!!

Yeah, I hope JK called to congratulate him on the transfer. He did name other players he left out because of transfer chaos, like Bradley and Jones.

Congrats boys!
While Brek’s last performance with the USMNT pretty much made this a no-brainer for JK, it’s been great to watch this kid bust on the scene this year.
I may be even more proud of Zach Loyd who seems to be in the mix somewhere along the backline with yet another callup. Even if he doesn’t get much or any PT, great to see him get selected and without any of the hype – just some very solid play all season long.
