Tuesday afternoon Quick Hits

For the first time since 2008, FC Dallas played an official Reserve League game today and they turned in a great performance winning 2-0 at Real Salt Lake. The starting XI for FC Dallas featured two academy players in Jack Coleman and Michael Ambrose, and five players from the FC Dallas youth scheme overall. Lineup: Seitz, Ambrose, Coleman, Jacobson, Wiedeman, Guarda, Ulloa, Warshaw, Leyva, Marosevic, Luna.

The teams went into halftime tied before Ruben Luna broke the deadlock early in the second half drawing a penalty and converting it. Bryan Leyva doubled the FC Dallas lead on the hour mark to round out the scoring. As Texg8r commented, Fabian Castillo did not travel with the team, implying he could be in line for a start on Friday night while Jacobson's playing suggests Alexander will remain as the starter or we could see Villar starting at center mid on Friday.

It's a big day on the national team front as the USA will face Paraguay this evening. I suggest you join USA fans at the Allen Wickers in Plano tonight for the game. From an FC Dallas perspective, homegrown player Moises Hernandez could suit up for the USA U20's as they face Suriname in the CONCACAF U20 Championships.
