We've discussed jersey designs and other items such as that on here before. Uni Watch recently released their tweaks of all the MLS clubs (and two bonus ones for Montreal and the New York Cosmos) [Part 1 and Part 2]. Looking at FC Dallas's tweak, I must say I'd buy the third kit in a heartbeat. Adding the Dallas flag is sweet, something I used to always like about the Chicago Fire's third kit from a few years ago.
Here is what Uni Watch had to say about FC Dallas's update:
I didn’t mess with this badge. It is a perfect reflection of the team with all the right elements in place. I especially like the flame on the bull’s head, a nice nod to the team’s past as the Dallas Burn. They use classic hoops which are like the soccer version of UCLA stripes. The large fonted "FC DALLAS" messes with the hoops, but getting the right sponsor would solve that problem in an instant. The only major change I made was adding the hooped socks as well. The alternate kit incorporates the flag of the City of Dallas in the shirt and socks. Although, considering where they actually play, it’s probably more apropos to use the flag of Frisco, TX. Does Frisco even have a flag?
The kits aren't a huge upgrade on the home and away side of things. All they did was add Texas Instruments as a sponsor (which is pretty cool). I'm not sure what to think of the red/blue sock combo for the home kit though. But the star on the third kit socks are pretty cool too. What do you make of these kits?
(And yes, that is John Terry in a Dallas kit. Kudos to Jason Davis at MatchFitUSA.com for bringing these up today.)
