Cristian Arrieta, a 31 year old central defender, formerly of Philadelphia Union, will be joining FCD on trial in Arizona.
Arrieta started 15 games for Philadelphia last season, but fell out of favor midway through the year and wasn't seen much towards the end of 2010. He's the first former Philly player to come through Frisco this pre-season joining Chris Seitz and Andrew Jacobson.
Arrieta was the 2009 USL First Division MVP with Puerto Rico Islanders and won Defender of the Year in 2008 and 2009. He'll likely be battling against Scott Gordon for one of the last roster spots.
