Very cool!
To see that Tim Howard pointed out Johns availability! Hopefully he has the same conversation with Jurgen. I’d love to see John get a crack at the USMNT.
Sad to lose a good player and someone who is adored by FCD fans. I hope we can find a somewhat equal replacement, John has been huge for us.
Best of wishes to him in EPL!

if true, this a great thing
GJ will leave this offseason, that seems inevitable since he doesn’t have any reason to extend, and the club doesn’t have any reason to hold onto him until he leaves on a free. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely they’ll get an offer as good as Blackburn’s was. FCD needs competition from multiple clubs to drive up the price, and GJ needs options to find the best mix of $ and playing time.
However, this report seems fishy. Why would Tim Howard rec GJ to Moyes? I doubt Timmy and George have ever met.

George was in a US camp at one time, perhaps they met then?

British press is guilty until prozen innocent.
Just seems unlikely that GJ has made enough of an impression on Howard that he’d go out of his way to tell his coach about the big Greek. Even less likely that the press would know about such an exchange.
Don’t get me wrong, I hope Everton wants him. A mid-table team in a big league where he has a shot at decent PT is the best case for him and FCD.

....
The chances of GJ staying after this season are about 5% to me.
I don’t see Schellas trusting him at all anymore

FCD would surely still get him on paper again if he wants to stay. He’s been offered a new contract. Whether it’s the terms or the team or the league, I can still respect him for just waiting out his options. I’ve written John, along with a few others, off for next season already. Can only wish him the best and wait.
